You can buy some very pretty stem/flower centres from the craft store, probably from the florist too. These are all great and your free to use those instead of what I've done here. But I find these a little restrictive. I had a look around my local craft store and found that, while these cute little stems are affordable, they are somewhat obsolete. One pack contains 5 stems, measuring about 5cm, and costs around $3.99 - $4.99. That's affordable and handy, but hang on a minute. I can buy a pack of 20 pipecleners for that, or a 2m length of wire. I could make my own. Not only is this cheaper, allowing for a greater output, but it also allows for greater diversity. I could make super long stem - for super large flowers, or teeny tiny stems - for itty bitty flowers. Now the possibilities are endless. TwoCut two strips of tissue paper about 10cm in width. There is something particularly pleasing in the multitude of splayed and bristling petals. This is a flower that works in every colour. Its a nice word too, full of letters that don't usually find themselves together. One of my top favourite words is twelve, which is essentially T, W, L, and V all strung together on a thread of E's. How fun! I could really make my day exciting by making twelve chrysanthemum. I should go away and some pictures is what I should do, but I'm going to leave this here for now. MethodStart off by making some stalks. Thread beads onto jewellery wire. Tape beaded wire to pipe cleaners using florist tape. Crepe paper works better with these, rather than tissue paper. Push splayed out tissue paper forward away from the stem. Done 😃
