Materials
- Cotton/Bias binding.
- Padding/batting
- Fleece
- D ring
- Velcro
- Scissors
- Thread
-Washable fabric markers/chalk
- Ruler
- Sewing machine
Method
You need to cut out one body piece in the cotton, batting and fleece. And one strap out of the cotton.
Add a 1cm seam allowance all the way around the body, and to the end of the D ring strap piece.
Note if you can't find/don't have any padding or batting you can substitute it with fleece. That's what I've done above. I am using the red and white fleece as my padding.
Use washable pens or chalk. Don't want these markings to be permanent.
You can get turning wands that make this task much easier. If you haven't got any use a safety pin to pull the end through.
Bias Binding
A special note on cornering with bias binding
start by sewing along your straight edge. Stop just before the corner and reverse your stitching.
Fold the bias binding back down at a 90 degree angle, matching the edge to the next straight edge.
From here you start sewing again down from the corner.
Its not difficult, you've just gotta do it.
