St Patricks Day Bag of Gold
Everytime I write gold my mind instatly thinks of the perrils of Glod.
But! This post isn't about Discworld, though the blog does need more of that, this post is all about St Patricks Day!
*Waring - Nuggets of gold are made out of chocolate and not real gold.
You Will Need
- White cotton/calico
- Green dye
- A bag of chocolate nuggets
- Ribbon
Method
I've gone with 11 X 17cm
Sew down with two lines to create a casing for the ribbon drawstring.
Clip the corners at the base of the bag to reduce bulk and turn the bag through.
Thread one ribbon anticlockwise from the left. Tie off the ends.
Then thread the other cockwise from the right.
The first drawstring ribbon is easy enough but the second one might give you some grief depending on how thick the ribbon is.
St Patricks Day
- It orrigionated as a religious feast day for the patron saint and national apostle of Ireland.
- St Patrick is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland.
- He erradicated snakes from Ireland. There is little evidence snakes were ever in Ireland but its a cool claim.
- March 17 is supossedly the day St Patrick died.
- Today St Patricks Day has evolved into an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods, and a whole lot of green.
